It?s easier to think

It?s easier to think of in terms of the food you eat being converted to energy. For example, something containing 120 calories has more available energy than something containing only 50 calories does.

The key to achieving and maintaining a healthy weight is to have balance among all three components. This balance is achieved by not taking in more calories than you are using. Calories are used continuously throughout the day, even while you are sleeping. All your cells in your body require energy to function. This energy comes from either the food you eat or the fat cells you have stored. Whenever you?re using the energy from the fat cells, you?re in the process of losing weight.

Eating a healthy diet and increased activity level is the most effective way to lose weight and keep it off long term. By eating fewer calories, and exercising more, you?re using the best combination for stable weight loss. Regular exercise will increase muscle mass.

However, it is

However, it is less well known that all anniversaries up to and including the 15th, and then every 5th anniversary, have their own particular symbol. The list below shows the symbol traditionally associated with each anniversary.

ANNIVERSARY

1st – Paper

2nd – Cotton

3rd – Leather

4th – Books

5th – Wood

6th – Sugar, candy

7th – Wool, cooper

8th – Bronze, pottery

9th – Pottery, willow

10th – Tin, aluminium

11th – Steel

12th – Silk, linen

13th – Lace

14th – Ivory

15th – Crystal

20th – China

25th – Silver

30th – Pearl

35th – Coral

40th – Ruby

45th – Sapphire

50th – Gold

60th – Diamond

75th – Diamond

The Silver (25th) and Golden (50th) Anniversaries appear to be the most traditional. In Central Europe going back hundreds of years a man would present his wife with a silver or golden garland to mark the occasion of their anniversary.

The other materials have been added to the list more recently, and there is now a more modern list which incorporates the missing years 16-19.

Future jobs will benefit highly skilled

0 Comments | Telegraph – Herald; Dubuque, Iowa, Sep 6, 2010 | by CHRISTOPHER S RUGABER

Whenever companies start hiring freely again, job-seekers with specialized skills and education will have plenty of good opportunities. Others will face a choice: Take a job with low pay – or none at all.

Job creation will likely remain weak for months or even years. But once employers do step up hiring, some economists expect job openings to fall mainly into two categories of roughly equal numbers:

* Professional fields with higher pay. Think lawyers, research scientists and software engineers.

* Lower-skill and lower-paying jobs, like home health care aides and store clerks.

And those in between? Their outlook is bleaker. Economists foresee fewer moderately paid factory supervisors, postal workers and office administrators.

That’s the sobering message American workers face as they celebrate Labor Day at a time of high unemployment, scant hiring and a widespread loss of job security. Not until 2014 or later is the nation expected to have regained all, or nearly all, the 8.4 million jobs lost to the recession. Millions of lost jobs in real estate, for example, aren’t likely to be restored this decade, if ever.

On Friday, the government said the August unemployment rate ticked up to 9.6 percent. Not enough jobs were created to absorb the growing number of people seeking work. The unemployment rate has exceeded 9 percent for 16 months, the longest such stretch in nearly 30 years.

The crisis poses a threat to President Barack Obama and Democrats in Congress, whose hold on the House and Senate appears to be at increasing risk because of voter discontent.

Even when the job market picks up, many people will be left behind. The threat stems, in part, from the economy’s continuing shift from one driven by manufacturing to one fueled by service industries.

Pay for future service-sector jobs will tend to vary from very high to very low. At the same time, the number of middle-income service-sector jobs will shrink, according to government projections

Wal-Mart has even used

Wal-Mart has even used RFID tags on shipments to improve supply chain management. Other RFID tags are used to track trucks in shipping yards. More recently, RFID tags have been used in automated tool booth systems like the E-ZPass system on the east coast. Mobile gas also implemented RFID technology to allow customers to simply pull up to the pump, pump gas, and then leave without having to scan a credit card or pay a cashier.

RFID technology has great potential and is constantly being improved. RFID workers are constantly trying to improve the current usage in systems like E-ZPass. It was recently announced that the eastern states will be improving E-ZPass so that cars can move faster through the tool-booth (35mph rather than 5mph).

It has the added advantage that it is compact and light, so you usually find you have it with you. It is also easy to store it out of sight in your car.

But what makes it stand out? Well, to start with, Panasonic is one of the top makers of consumer electronic products – like Sony, which also makes great digital cameras – and makes its own semiconductors. Therefore, it knows how to package electronics circuits and chips inside a small camera.

Leica Elmarit lens

On the other hand, Panasonic is not a top maker of lenses, so chose Leica, probably the best-known name in the camera business, to supply its lenses, despite the fact that there are many good Japanese lens makers. Leica has more credibility than most companies and in any case most of the best lens makers in Japan also happen to make digital cameras which would compete with Panasonic!

So, here we have a neat little camera with a Leica DC-Vario-Elmarit lens with a focal length of f2.8 to f4.9, and a 3x aspherical zoom lens.

In setting up a BBQ it never hurts to think about themes. What theme would you like? In an effort to stay cool many people combine their BBQ?s with a pool or beach party.

In place of that you could create an Under the Sea BBQ, especially if you have little kids. All you?d need for the group to have fun at this party is a kiddy pool filled with water and sand and a lawn sprinkler, preferably far from the BBQ. You can also blow up some inflatable sea creatures and scatter them around the lawn or house for kids to play with and if you can get some seashells and driftwood to create a centerpiece on the buffet table where you?ll be placing the food once it?s grilled. Food for this party could be predominantly grilled seafood.

A Hawaiian BBQ can add an exotic flavor to your party. For food how about grilled pork and pineapple Kabobs. This is a party you can hold closer towards evening and make use of lighted tiki torches and decorative outdoor lighting. The tables can hold lighted citronella candles to help keep the bugs away.

For the next seven

For the next seven years, freedom was the real issue
in the “land of the free”. College professors began explaining
to students what was happening to freedom in the U.S. and the
methods elitists used to control and manipulate the people.
Rebellion soon spread to challenge elitist agendas wherever they
were exposed. There was just enough violence to keep the rebels
focused on change.

The early years of Rock and Roll were mostly feel good music.
It was rhythmic romance. It had to reach the late sixties to
become protest music. Everything happens faster now – perhaps
twice as fast. What took eight to twelve years to develop in
America back then, could take four to six years in other places
today.

Iran, with seventy per cent of its population, thirty years and
younger, is ripe for such an event. Young people, not yet ready
to oppose presumed authority, as the U.S. youth were not in the
beginning, are defying the edicts of authority.

He was brownish in color with legs like a deer and a heart that could outlast the best of the Indian horses.

With such men came the tired look. As he sat on his horse, allowing himself to catch his breath before he entered the small Wyoming town, he thought of the lonely journey he had coming up from Pueblo along the Continental Divide that stretched from Colorado to Canada. The mountains he captured sight of and the long dusty cactus along the way.

?Another town,? he whispered to himself and old Dan, as his eyes made a one hundred eighty degree circle. He had seen most of them in the Montana, Wyoming, Arizona territories; this town he hadn?t been to.

As he looked up towards the hot summer sun, he thought of his old friends in his life though he knew none of them personally. There was John Wesley Hardin, like him, a loner, and a profligate killer.

?They say he shot 44-men? he mumbled.

Obesity is not good for you PERIOD.

Actually, I don?t like the word

obesity.

It sounds like a disease. We should have known it would happen; some professionals are now saying that obesity is a disease. I say that is not so. It is a condition brought on, not by the desires of the sufferer, but by others.

Yes, by others.

It?s not your fault!

Never place the blame for being overweight on yourself.

Do you hear me?

You are overweight because:

Your mother always said, ?Now clean your plate or there will be no dessert for you.?

You are overweight because:

McDonalds? built a hamburger joint next door. You don?t even have to go in the place. You just walk up to the takeout window and say, ?Give me three Big Macs?, Sarah! Two are for my dogs.?

You are overweight because:

When you were a kid, Billy Brainbreak said, ?You?re as fat as a pig, Mary! When you roll over in your bed at night, you shake the ground so hard that our hens won?t lay eggs and our cows won?t give milk.?

You are overweight because:

George Simpleton married Sally Druthers after saying he loved you that night under the big oak tree?just to get his way with you.

It?s not your fault!

I know that you want to lose weight.

No jargon, no fancy

No jargon, no fancy sentence structures please. Just say what you mean as clearly and as simply as possible. The objective is to be understood, not to win the Nobel Prize for creative communication.

In times when it’s not clear to you what the other party means, it’s best to seek clarification. Paraphrasing can be quite handy in confirming your understanding of what the other person means – simply rephrase what you think is being said with a simple question at the end asking if you’ve understood right.

If you’re on the phone, speak slowly and clearly. It’s entirely okay to repeat, paraphrase, and ask. Make allowances for the other party to do the same as well. Misunderstandings can be costly in terms of time and money, so save yourself the inconvenience and profit margin.

Not everyone is in your time zone, so do allow for slight delays in terms of timing. If you’re planning something in real time (such as an online event), find a time that’s convenient to all or at least the majority. For example, if you’re planning to call someone in another part of the world, it’s good customer service not to plan to call someone at some unearthly hour.

So there, we’re all set to hit the international business scene.
